Belgh Brasse MicroBrewery Awarded in Colorado and British Columbia

Belgh Brasse MicroBrewery is proud to add three (3) new medals to its honor roll. At the Denver International Beer Competition, which took place on April 13th and 14th, the MONS ABBEY WITTE won the bronze medal in the Witbier category. At the Canadian Brewing Awards on May 11th, held in British Columbia, the judges awarded the bronze medal to MONS ABBEY WITTE in the Wheat Beer - Belgian Style (Wit) category and the MONS ABBEY DUBBEL in the Belgian Style Abbey Ale category.

Belgh Brasse MicroBrewery is located in Amos and is owned by Ms. Linda Geloso. Ms. Geloso is a member of a family of bottlers specializing in activities related to alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Her expertise, combined with the expertise of its brewmaster Jean-Louis Marcoux who is from Belgium, has developed a Belgian-Style Ale beer, and in January 2012, unveiled the MONS beer. His country, considered the cradle of the greatest beers in the world, has inspired this brewmaster who, passionate about his craft and his country, took with him all the Belgian tradition of double fermentation. This world-class beer is brewed with carefully selected hops and yeast from Belgium and filtered in naturally pure water from the Abitibi eskers.

Following the first brewing, MONS ABBEY WITTE participated in the Canadian Brewing Awards 2012 contest and won a bronze medal. In October 2012, the MONS line of products officially entered the Quebec market with MONS ABBEY WITTE and MONS ABBEY BLONDE. Recently, MONS ABBEY DUBBEL was added to the list of products.

In conclusion, the Belgh Brasse MicroBrewery is proud to have participated in the filming of Ça va brasser which will be broadcasted on June 29th on V. Jean-Louis Marcoux specially brewed a beer branded under the show's name and will be on shelves later this summer in limited quantities.


The 4th edition of the Denver International Beer Competition took place in Broomfield, Colorado. The competition, sponsored by Wine Country Network, was composed of fifteen (15) certified judges who conducted the tasting of more than 180 beers. Of the 180 entries, 95 medals were awarded in 48 different categories.

The 11th edition of the Canadian Brewing Awards was held in Victoria, British Columbia. In collaboration with Taps Media, the Canadian Brewing Awards is the only national competition that invites all major breweries in the country to present their beer(s). Symbol of excellence in Canada, the competition consists of a panel of 25 certified judges who judged more than 700 beers in 38 different categories. In addition to rewarding the best breweries, this event is used to inform the public about the variety and quality of beers available on the market.
