Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic raises $138,000 for children and youth

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 10, 2013) - The Ottawa Senators Foundation is pleased to announce that $138,000 was raised over the course of the past two days during the Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic, held at Canadian Tire Centre and the Rideau View Country Club. More than 275 guests attended a draft party on Monday night and 108 golfers, along with members of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, attended this year's event, the club's first official public function of the 2013-14 season.

The new two-day format was a resounding success. Monday's cocktail reception provided guests and sponsors with a rare opportunity to mingle with Senators players and coaches before they took to the links at the Rideau View Country Club earlier this morning. Live auction items included a trip to the 2014 NHL Heritage Classic in Vancouver to watch the Canucks host the Senators at B.C. Place. Most importantly, the impact of live testimonials offered by local youth who have received support from the Ottawa Senators Foundation.

The Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $1.59 million over its 20-year history in support of youth mental health awareness, social recreation programs, adolescent healthcare and educational programming in local schools.

The Ottawa Senators Foundation empowers children and youth to reach their full potential by investing in social recreation and education programs that promote both physical and mental wellness.
