MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 10, 2005) - Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that defensive back Ricky Bell has signed a new two-year contract plus an option. Ricky Bell is in his fifth Canadian Football League season, having started his career in 2001 with the Calgary Stampeders before going to the Ottawa Renegades in 2002. He played for the Blue Bombers from 2003 to 2005. In 76 career games, Bell has made 192 tackles, five interceptions and three quarterback sacks. He started four games this season, making 15 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, one sack, one tackle for a loss and three knockdowns. He is 31. The contract is for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons.
