Bengal Energy Announces Closing of $25.5 Million Bought Deal Financing Including Over-Allotment Option

Bengal Energy Ltd. (TSX:BNG) ("Bengal" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has closed its previously announced short form prospectus bought deal financing (the "Offering") with a syndicate of underwriters led by Wellington West Capital Markets Inc. and including Mackie Research Capital Corporation and Canaccord Genuity Corp. (the "Underwriters"). Pursuant to the Offering, Bengal issued 14,166,800 common shares of the Corporation ("Common Shares") at an issue price of $1.80 per Common Share for aggregate gross proceeds of $25,500,240, including 1,666,800 Common Shares issued pursuant to the exercise in full by the Underwriters of an over-allotment option.

The net proceeds from the Offering will be used to fund capital expenditures, operations and development of the Company's oil and gas properties and for general working capital purposes.
