Benjamins of Moorefield, ON elected to GROWMARK Board of Directors

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 30, 2005) - On Aug. 26, shareholders of GROWMARK, a regional agricultural cooperative based in Bloomington, Ill., elected five directors to its governing board.

Evert (Ed) Benjamins, Moorefield, Ont., was elected to a three-year term to represent Zone F on the GROWMARK Board of Directors. He and his wife Gina operate a chicken farm. They also farm 1,200 acres with a son-in-law, and operate a trucking company.

Benjamins is involved with several cooperative organizations and has been a member of the Inland Co-operative Board of Directors since 2000.

The election took place at the GROWMARK Annual Meeting at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago. Five of the 16 director seats, established by geographic zone, were up for election. GROWMARK has six established governance zones which cover all of North America. In addition, one director-at-large represents Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin Farm Bureaus. GROWMARK is affiliated with Farm Bureau in those states.
