Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties Awards Two High School Students $1,000 in Scholarship Funds

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Dec 3, 2014) - Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties recently announced the two winners of its annual high school scholarship competition. The real estate firm asked students across the country to describe their experiences growing up in a home they could call their own, their dreams of one day owning a home or their volunteer experiences in their communities.

With close to 500 applicants, two individuals from opposite ends of the country stood out most. Aaron Borkovec from Newbury Park High School in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Jonathan Toong from Green Hope High School in Cary, N.C., each received $1,000 for their essays that best personified the "American Dream" and what it meant to them in a personal essay.

"We are so proud to announce this year's scholarship winners," said Dan Forsman, President & CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties. "Aaron and Jonathan submitted authentic and compelling stories. They really highlighted the invaluable role of a home to provide a more stable family life, and the confidence and pride that comes from owning a home. We're grateful we could help these young people further their education and pursue their own dreams."
