He points to the popularity of cigars like Acid Kuba Kuba, Baccarat, Ashton Classic and Macanudo specifically, remarking that, "In the case of the last two or three in that group, they're heritage brands; they've been around for a while. Those are often recommended by veteran cigar smokers to up-and-coming enthusiasts for their consistent profile -- smooth, mellow, creamy... almost buttery. As for Kuba Kuba, and to some extent the My Father Connecticut and the Rocky Patel, enough folks have 'discovered' them by now with a tobacconist's guidance; and because they're satisfying in a different sort of way, the resulting brand advocacy among consumers is very strong in spite of their relatively shorter time on shelves. But all of them share one key trait: they're good."
