With its famous 31 flavors, Baskin-Robbins claims to be the world's largest ice cream franchise, with more than 5,800 locations worldwide in over 30 countries. 2,800 are located just in the United States alone with its headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts.

The idea behind the "31 flavors" was generated by the Carson-Roberts advertising agency in 1953, along with the slogan "Count the Flavors. Where flavor counts." They were also on a mission to beat out the competition at Howard Johnson's restaurants, which only offered 28 flavors.
