Best Walking Cities

Cities That Go or Don't Go the Extra Mile to Get Fit

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 7, 2008) - Does your city walk the walk or just talk the talk? This year's best walking cities study is bigger than ever. PREVENTION magazine and the American Podiatric Medical Association teamed up to review more than 500 cities across the country (the 10 most populated cities in each state, plus Washington, DC) to determine not only the top ten overall best and worst walking cities in the country but also -- for the first time -- to recognize a winning city in each STATE.

In this segment, PREVENTION's Fitness Director, Michele Stanten, and American Podiatric (Po-dee-a-tric) Medical Association podiatrist, Dr. Jane Andersen, will share what the BEST WALKING CITIES in the U.S. are. The pair will also be able to discuss the overall analysis and some of the more interesting national results. Whether your city fared well or not so well, Dr. Andersen and Stanten can offer tips on improving overall health through walking and foot friendly advice on selecting a great walking shoe, as well as tips on starting a walking program.
