NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 5, 2009) - Scholastic invites tweens everywhere to join bestselling author Meg Cabot and comedian/actress Caroline Rhea in the "Allie Finkle's Super Sleepover" live webcast on March 12, 2009, at 7:30 PM EDT. The special event will be promoted on Scholastic.com and can be accessed for free through www.scholastic.com/allie_webcast. On March 10th, Scholastic will release "Best Friends and Drama Queens," the third installment in the acclaimed and bestselling Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls series.

Scholastic has teamed up with Girls' Life magazine and the publication's site, Girlslife.com, to stream the webcast live. To promote the event, Girlslife.com hosted an "Allie Finkle's Super Rule Contest," where kids ages 8-17 submitted their favorite rule. The top ten rules will be selected by Meg Cabot and announced live during the webcast. The winning #1 rule will be written into an upcoming Allie Finkle book to be released in 2010. Winners also will receive copies of Allie Finkle books signed by Meg Cabot.

Additionally, Scholastic will run the "Allie Finkle's Super Sleepover Dream Room Sweepstakes," where one grand prize winner will win the bedroom set featured in the webcast, donated by PBteen.
