"Betcha Didn't Know" WhooGoo Partners With Privo to Launch Fun and Safe Beta Website for Tweens Built on Microsoft Windows Azure

New Interactive Website to Help Kids Express Themselves in a Fun, Safe and Secure Environment in the Cloud

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Nov 3, 2011) - "What word that starts with the letter 'A' best describes you?" This is one of the questions kids can find in the new beta site for tweens. WhooGoo™ lets kids ask and answer questions, then share and compare them with their friends and family in collaborative books they produce.

WhooGoo is intended for the tween market, 21 million U.S. children, spanning ages 8-15, that are still largely influenced and guided by their parents -- but eager for independence and to be recognized as individuals.* WhooGoo hopes to give a space for these kids to voice their opinion in a fun and creative way. With a free membership, kids get to create their own GooPal™ and have more than 2,000 questions and numerous fun themes to choose from, including creating different types of survival guides (crush, school, fashion, family, outdoor, etc.), friendship books, sporting books, summer camp memory theme books, and the list goes on. For every question a user answers, they earn GooCoins™ to buy stickers and decals to decorate their book covers. Special new and exciting theme books in collaboration with some well-known non-profits and after-school groups will be coming out soon.

WhooGoo™ is proud to announce that this website is built on Microsoft Windows Azure.

"By building its website on Windows Azure, a cloud platform that allows for scalability and flexibility, WhooGoo is enabling its game to easily adapt to usage requirements and meet the expected high user demand," said Prashant Ketkar, Director Windows Azure product marketing, Microsoft.

WhooGoo™ is 100% COPPA compliant and has been working closely with its safety partner, Privo, to make sure it provides children under 13 a safe environment in which to play. All members under 13 joining the site will be required to have parental authorization and consent. WhooGoo™ stresses the site is not a social network to meet new people, but a place for kids to invite friends and family they already know to participate in books they are producing, to help them feel more comfortable about writing, and to better express their thoughts and feelings.

In the coming months, WhooGoo™ has more on its way, including a mobile app, board game, and GooBooks™, physical activity books sold in stores and online that mimic what kids can do on the website. In addition, the website will soon offer premium memberships and let users order a hard or soft cover copy of their books or download their creation as an e-book.
