Betteridge Jewelers Selects Webster Bank to Provide Banking Services

WATERBURY, CT--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - Webster Bank (NYSE: WBS) has been selected as the primary bank for Betteridge Jewelers of Greenwich, Conn., one of the world's oldest and most prestigious jewelry and watch businesses. Webster will provide a revolving credit facility and cash management services for Betteridge's three retail stores.

Founded in 1897, Betteridge is one of the oldest jewelry and watch businesses in the world to be owned by the same family throughout its lengthy history. Betteridge's CEO, Terry Betteridge, is a fifth generation jeweler whose roots date back to the 1700s in Birmingham, England where the Betteridge name was synonymous with fine jewelry design and silversmithing. In addition to Greenwich, Betteridge also has stores in Palm Beach, Florida and Vail, Colorado.
