BEYOND Technology Education Reveals "5 Steps to Prep for One-to-One"

Back-to-School Guide for Teachers and Administrators Building Toward One-to-One Classrooms

CHINO HILLS, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 22, 2013) - As a new school year begins, teachers are busy developing lesson plans and preparing their classrooms. For those who have tablets, laptops and desktops at their fingertips, planning is challenging, especially if the school or district's goal is to have a device in every student's hands (one-to-one). To guide this inevitable shift, BEYOND Technology Education (BTE), a leader in edtech planning and implementation, released their "5 Steps to Prep for One-to-One" today based on SWIMGrid (School-Wide Integration Model). SWIMGrid is BTE's organizational method and planning tool used to help schools create a four-year technology plan.

"At BTE, we are partnering with schools across the U.S. to instill teachers with the confidence to use technology in their classrooms in a way that is meaningful to students," said Ernie Delgado, founder and co-CEO of BTE. "Technology surrounds every aspect of our lives and will continue to well into the future. Ultimately, our goal is to prepare youth for their future, giving them both technical and creative skills needed to adapt to changing environments."

BTE's Annual Teacher Training in San Clemente, Calif. August 5-9 set the stage for the upcoming school year, guiding more than 50 teachers through the BTE program including new elements adapted for changing trends in education.

"I started using the BTE program with my students three years ago, and it changed the way I engaged with students and their parents," said Kimberleigh Brown, director of education technology at Los Gatos Christian School. "There are so many ways to use technology and challenge students to apply technical skills in creative ways. This is the most exciting time to be in education, and the changes technology can bring to education are huge."
