BG Income + Growth Split Trust Announces Call for Cash Redemption of Preferred Securities

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 30, 2006) - BG Income + Growth Split Trust (TSX:BDS.PR.A) announces that as a result of the annual redemption of Capital Units and in accordance with the Preferred Securities trust indenture, the Fund intends to call for cash redemption, 543,955 Preferred Securities with an aggregate principal amount of $5,439,550.

The call of Preferred Securities represents approximately 18.3% of the outstanding Preferred Securities. The Preferred Securities will be called on a pro rata basis such that each holder of Preferred Securities of record on December 6, 2006, as per the records of the Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (CDS), will have approximately 18.3% of their Preferred Securities redeemed. The total redemption amount for the Preferred Securities will be $10.33587 per security, which represents a price of $10.30 plus interest from the date of the last distribution to December 6, 2006. The redemption amount will be paid by the Fund on December 7, 2006. From and after December 7, 2006, the holders of Preferred Securities that have been called for redemption will not be entitled to interest or to exercise any right in respect of such securities except to receive the amount due on redemption.

Securities of BG Income + Growth Split Trust are listed for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbols BDS.UN for the Capital Units and BDS.PR.A for the Preferred Securities.
