BidNet's Purchasing Group Continues to Grow in Texas

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - January 21, 2016) - The Texas Purchasing Group grew to a community of 30 participating local government agencies in 2015. One of BidNet's 16 regional purchasing groups, the Texas Purchasing Group added new local government agency members including the cities of La Marque, Bay City, Iowa Park, and the County of Dallas.

"Our team is really excited to welcome our new members to the Texas Purchasing Group," says Janine Rossi, Director of Government Relations at BidNet. "We are focused on building relationships with our participating agencies and their buyers and we look forward to welcoming even more local government agencies throughout Texas in 2016."

The Texas Purchasing Group (www.TexasBidSystem.com) connects a community of public purchasing professionals with a centralized e-Sourcing platform, powered by BidNet's SourceSuite technology. The Texas Purchasing Group streamlines bid and vendor management, cutting costs, saving time, and making it easier for vendors to do business with local Texas government agencies. The large, shared vendor database and regional bid library also facilitates collaboration between like-minded public purchasing professionals throughout the state.

The Texas Purchasing Group has also seen record breaking numbers of vendor registrations over the past year. Janine Rossi explains why increased vendors are important to local governments, "Agencies want to reach a more diverse pool of vendors. As the Texas Purchasing Group's vendor pool grows, the group becomes more attractive to new agencies. If a city's vendors are already registered on the bid system, it makes it that much easier to participate." Rossi adds, "Knowing that the vendor competition is growing is a positive thing for all participating agencies -- and their tax payers."

The Texas Purchasing Group attributes ease-of-use as another major reason for its growth. Daniel R. Garza, Purchasing Director for Dallas County, stated in a press release in November 2015, "We have been searching for an efficient solution to simplifying our purchasing process -- BidNet is our answer. Through BidNet, our agency is saving time, money and resources by eliminating the manual bid process." Garza continued with explaining how the Texas Purchasing Group benefits his vendors, "Our vendors will be pleased with its ease-of-use and centralized bid opportunities available at their fingertips."

Any public government agencies or non-profit organizations in Texas that are interested in joining the regional community for an e-Sourcing solution are encouraged to contact the Texas Purchasing Group Buyer Support Team, available Monday-Friday from 7am-7pm CT or request a demonstration online at http://www.sourcesuite.com/request-demo-purchasing-group.jsp.
