Big Switch Networks Launches SDN Coffee Talks to Further Educate the Broader IT Community on Software-Defined Networking (SDN)

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 22, 2012) - Big Switch Networks, an OpenFlow company bringing the benefits of virtualization and cloud architecture to enterprise networks, today launched SDN Coffee Talks, a free weekly online video interview designed to help IT professionals learn more about SDN, a revolutionary new approach to networking that brings programmability and flexibility to existing infrastructure. Each week, SDN Coffee Talks will explore the most pressing questions on SDN in less than 5 minutes.

"SDN Coffee Talks is a great venue for Big Switch Networks to interact with a broad worldwide IT community around OpenFlow-based SDN, answering questions coming from our online audience and also partners and customers," said Isabelle Guis, VP of Outbound Marketing at Big Switch Networks and the SDN Coffee Talks Host. "With the pace at which businesses are changing today, short weekly videos discussing top of mind SDN topics seems the natural media. Our team and guests are excited to join me and share their views on this innovative space."

Guest speakers include industry experts in virtualization and networking as well as researchers from Stanford University who were early pioneers of SDN and OpenFlow and are now at Big Switch Networks. Experts from other companies and organizations will also be guest speakers on SDN Coffee Talks to provide a wide variety of perspectives.

The first five episodes answer the following questions:
1 - What is new in OpenFlow v1.2?
2 - Can I use CLI scripts to replace SDN automation?
3 - Is SDN/OpenFlow limited to L2/L3?
4 - How will my company benefit from SDN?
5 - How important is Open Source for SDN?
