BigStoryTime.com Launches Community of Young Podcasters to Promote Reading

BURBANK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 21, 2006 -- BigStoryTime.com has launched a new community of young podcasters this week. The website is devoted to the reading of books by kids of all ages. A private reception for friends of BigStoryTime.com will be held on Saturday with food, games, crafts, prizes, and practice podcast sessions. Karen Katz, author of the popular series of Lift-the-flap books like "Where is Baby's Bellybutton?" and "Wiggle Your Toes," will deliver a special message at the reception encouraging kids of all ages to read.

Podcasts are recorded audio MP3 files that can be played online, downloaded to a computer and transferred to an iPod or other portable audio MP3 players. This exciting new audio medium adds a new dimension to the reading experience. BigStoryTime.com was developed by a group of parents and educators to motivate and empower young readers.

BigStoryTime.com currently features 4-year old Mitchell and 5-year old Megan reading books. Visitors can listen to the podcasts in regular speed and "bunny" speed.

Authors and publishers who are interested in getting their stories read and featured on BigStoryTime.com are encouraged to send emails to info@bigstorytime.com. BigStoryTime.com has become an Amazon.com affiliate in order to facilitate the sales of children's books. BigStoryTime.com will also be selecting an online audio recording service offering parents and teachers an easy way to record their kids and to join the online community of young podcasters.

Funding and support of BigStoryTime.com have been provided in part by StreetIQ.com and other generous contributors.
