Bio-Rad Announces Public Offering of $425 Million Senior Notes

HERCULES, CA--(Marketwire - December 6, 2010) - Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: BIO) and (NYSE: BIO.B), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of life science research and clinical diagnostics products, announced today that it intends to commence an offering, subject to market and other conditions, of $425 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2020 (the "Senior Notes") in a public offering pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The interest rate and other terms of the Senior Notes are to be determined by negotiations between the Company and the underwriters of the Senior Notes. The Company intends to use the proceeds from this offering, together with cash on hand, to redeem all $225 million of its outstanding 7.50% senior subordinated notes due 2013 and all $200 million of its outstanding 6.125% senior subordinated notes due 2014.

Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering of the Senior Notes.
