BioBridges Announces Corporate Sponsorship of Battle of the Biotech Bands

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - April 09, 2015) - BioBridges is excited to announce its corporate sponsorship of the upcoming third annual Battle of the Biotech Bands (BoBB). Proceeds from the event will benefit charitable foundations affiliated with each band.

"Having the opportunity to sponsor the Battle of the Biotech Bands is personally and professionally gratifying," said Jason Falchuk, BioBridges' Managing Partner. "Our life sciences community is made up of brilliant, inspiring people working together to develop breakthrough therapies. Music also unites, inspires, and heals. If I had to choose only one event that captures the pulse of our exceptional community, this is it."

2014 BoBB winners Bad Idea (Merrimack Pharmaceuticals) will open for this year's competing bands: Aural Gavage (Momenta Pharmaceuticals), Molecular Groove (PerkinElmer), and Zac Mac Band (Ironwood Pharmaceuticals). The event is fiscally sponsored by the Arts and Business Council, and will be hosted by celebrity emcee Joyce Kulhawik.

"I LOVE hosting this event, because of the incredible energy in the room, and all the tangible good it does for the community -- while we're having fun!" said Kulhawik. "I love that people are multifaceted and we get to see that serious biotech types can also cut loose and rock out…including me!"

"The Battle of the Biotech Bands is truly a unique event that brings together individuals from across the building and life science spectrum," said Carly Bassett, BoBB co-chair. "A networking opportunity that doesn't feel like you're networking…it's about the music, raising money for charity and connecting gifted innovators in the biotech industry with the teams of people that help make their organizations possible."

Battle of the Biotech Bands will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from 6-10PM at Royale Nightclub, 279 Tremont Street in Boston. For more information, please visit
