5th generation BIO-SOLO™ fully compostable bags non-toxic and non-polluting Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Environment Editor, Home/Garden Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 6, 2005) - Canadians can take composting a step further - in an easy, environmentally friendly manner - by using BIO-SOLO™ compostable bags and liners, a non-toxic, non-polluting alternative to the traditional plastic bags many people use for wet waste disposal.

"Any effort to recycle is a good thing, but the fact remains that wrapping your wet waste in a traditional plastic bag, in many ways, defeats the purpose of composting since those bags are still finding their way into landfill sites," explains Peter Wehrle, President of Toronto-based Indaco Manufacturing Ltd. and inventor of the technology behind BIO-SOLO™. "We are investing the time to participate in these new curbside composting programs, so it only makes sense to ensure everyone's efforts are making an environmental difference."

BIO-SOLO™ compostable bags and liners, which have been officially recognized as biodegradable products by the University of Waterloo's Chemical Engineering Department, provide an environmentally responsible alternative for consumers, while eliminating the "yuck factor" often associated with organic waste collection.

BIO-SOLO™ bags, which compost within as little as 14 days in a well-managed composting setting, have all the qualities of traditional plastic garbage bags, yet they are 100 per cent biodegradable. Once composted, BIO-SOLO™ bags turn into C0², water and minerals.

Compostable bags benefit backyard composters by eliminating the need to separate bags from the organics they carry. Regular uses for compostable bags and liners include:
- Green bin waste collection
- Under counter organic collection
- Leaf and yard waste disposal
- Collection and disposal of dog waste
- Collection and disposal of gerbil, hamster and rabbit bedding

BIO-SOLO™ bags are available in a variety of sizes ranging from "under counter" compost bin liners to larger kitchen and yard waste bags. Bags and liners can be found at Loblaws, Sobey's, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware and Zellers.
