BioLargo Receives Additional Support to Scale Up Its AOS Filter

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 14, 2015) - BioLargo, Inc.'s (OTCQB: BLGO) Canadian subsidiary (www.BioLargoWater.ca) will receive up to C$220,000 in financial support and advisory services from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to continue advancing its AOS Filter (Advanced Oxidation System). The support fuels a pivotal moment in the development of the AOS Filter, enabling BioLargo's research and development team to expand the scope of the technology's decontamination and disinfection capabilities (focusing on bacterial spores and capsid viruses), as well as to demonstrate its abilities for viable large-scale deployment and commercial implementation in industries such as livestock processing. The contribution from NRC-IRAP, the fourth received by BioLargo Water, provides funding for 80% of supported salary costs and 50% of supported contractor fees.

Dr. Richard Smith, President of BioLargo Water, Inc., commented, "This funding allows us to conduct synchrotron studies at the Canadian Light Source (www.lightsource.ca), to hire additional staff, including two PhDs, and to support further development of our technology and AOS filter over the next 18 months."

Dennis Calvert, President and CEO of BioLargo, added, "We are thankful for continued financial support of the NRC-IRAP program. Their support is critical to advance our plans to grow and generate profits through our continued development and commercialization of our innovative AOS filter technology."
