Products Available for Sale at Dental-Expo 2011

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2011) - BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLTI), the world's leading dental laser manufacturer and distributor, today announced that it has received approval from the Federal Service of Health Care and Social Development Control to sell its Waterlase iPlus™ all-tissue dental laser systems and iLase™ portable dental laser systems throughout the Russian Federation. BIOLASE sells its products in Russia exclusively through Moscow-based UNIDENT, the largest supplier of dental equipment and materials in that country.

The Waterlase iPlus and iLase will be featured and available for sale in Russia at the 30th Moscow International Dental Forum and Exhibition (Dental-Expo 2011) on September 26-29, 2011 by UNIDENT. With more than 25,000 attendees expected to attend, Dental-Expo is the number one dental show in Russia and recognized as the premier annual meeting point for dental professionals and industry.

Chairman and CEO Federico Pignatelli commented, "This is a significant regulatory approval as it not only opens up the entire Russian market for these revolutionary products, but it also comes at the perfect time, on the eve of the most important dental show of the year for the Russian dental community. It also marks another significant achievement for our expanding international sales organization.

"We are optimistic that the reception for our products will be strong in Russia based on the fact that the response to previous demonstrations of the Waterlase iPlus and iLase has been overwhelming," Pignatelli added. "These products will help draw attention to the potential of pain-free laser dentistry, its ease of use and clinically superior results as we establish our laser technology as essential tools in advanced dentistry to new potential customers around the world."

Chief Technology Officer Dmitri Boutoussov, Ph.D., said, "We are very excited to bring our flagship products to Russia, especially since the YSGG technology was conceived in Russia and perfected and engineered in the USA, to make it the prominent laser technology in dental and medical surgery. Russia has shown tremendous appetite for adopting the latest medical technologies as there is a great demand and resources available not only in the metropolitan areas, but also in many other regions of the Russian Federation."

The Waterlase iPlus, with its Intuitive Power Control, not only addresses the key functional needs for the next generation of laser dentists, but it also delivers double the power and cutting speed with unparalleled control and versatility for all laser dentist users, from the beginner to the expert. Performing most types of procedures with the new Waterlase iPlus provides minimal to no pain or discomfort, minimizes the need for local anesthetic in most restorative cases, eliminates the risk of bacterial and viral cross-contamination associated with conventional drills and burs, and results in preserving the tissue biologically intact, and without causing the damaging micro-fractures of the tooth structure and avoiding the necrosis caused by heat and abrasion.

The iLase diode laser is the world's first portable, wireless, battery-operated laser for dentists and hygienists for performing a full-range of minimally invasive soft-tissue and hygiene procedures. It is also the first completely self-contained, hand-held dental laser that includes the laser, user interface, battery power, and controls in a single, integrated handpiece with no foot pedals or cords.
