BioNitrogen Corporation Hires Operations Manager

DORAL, FL--(Marketwire - Dec 17, 2012) - BioNitrogen Corporation (PINKSHEETS: BION), a cleantech company that utilizes proprietary technology to build environmentally-friendly plants that convert biomass into urea fertilizer, announced today Ernie Iznaga has joined the company as Operations Manager. In this role, Ernie will be responsible for overseeing operations and engineering for both the initial Hardee County plant as well as all future plants.

Ernie brings more than 20 years of experience in operations and engineering management to BioNitrogen, including in-depth experience and expertise in Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production System processes. Ernie spent over 16 years at Pratt & Whitney/United Technologies where he served as the senior operations manager responsible for M&A activities regarding manufacturing, assembly, test, purchasing and quality operations and also led two business units. While at Pratt, Ernie trained with the prestigious Lean consulting firm, Shingujitsu, to implement Lean in the factory. He also served as acting-SVP and Director of Lean Deployment at Simmons Mattress Co., where he led the Lean implementation in seven factories and supervised more than five manufacturing plants generating over $500 million annually. At Simmons, he worked closely with plant managers to implement Lean processes and Best Practices.

Construction on the site is slated to commence in early 2013. The proposed plant will be able to produce 15 tons of urea fertilizer hourly, totaling 360 short tons daily or 124,200 tons annually.
