BioteQ to Receive Award for Outstanding Innovation and Best Practice From Canada China Business Council

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2010) - BioteQ Environmental Technologies, Inc. (TSX:BQE), a leader in the treatment of industrial waste water, has been selected to receive the Business Excellence Award for Outstanding Innovation and Best Practice, by the Canada China Business Council. The award recognizes the success of BioteQ's strategies in the China market, and the impact of the China market on the company's competitive edge and financial performance. BioteQ will receive the award at a gala reception in Beijing on October 13. The gala marks the 40th anniversary of bi-lateral diplomatic relations between Canada and China. Key government officials from Canada and China will be in attendance.

Brad Marchant, BioteQ's Chief Executive Officer stated, "We are honoured to receive the CCBC Business Excellence Award for Outstanding Innovation and Best Practice, and we thank the Canada China Business Council for this recognition. China is an important market for BioteQ. Our success there is due to the commitment of our joint venture partners, Jiangxi Copper Company, and our operations team. We anticipate continued growth in China, as we expand our portfolio of industrial water treatment projects."

BioteQ entered the China market in 2006 through a joint venture with Jiangxi Copper Company, China's largest copper producer. Since that time, the joint venture has designed and built two water treatment plants at the Dexing mine, to recover dissolved copper from mine drainage and enhance the environmental performance of the mine site. A third water treatment plant is currently under construction at the Dexing mine, to recover cobalt and nickel. The joint venture agreement identifies six potential sites where BioteQ's clean technologies can be applied, and the joint venture partners are actively reviewing additional projects for future development.

The Canada China Business Council (CCBC) is a not-for-profit business association that facilitates bilateral trade and investment between Canada and China, through advocacy, relationship building, and business support services. Additional information is available at
