Bioterrorism Compliance Seminar for Food Manufacturers Features Tamlin Manufacturing and AccountMate Accounting Software

NOVATO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 25, 2005 -- Tamlin Software Developers, Inc., an AccountMate Software Corporation Business Partner, is co-sponsoring a one-day Bioterrorism Compliance Seminar with The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 31, 2005.

Major food manufacturers and processors with over 500 employees have until December 9, 2005 to comply with new product traceability regulations formulated by the Food and Drug Administration and implemented as part of the Bioterrorism Act of 2002. Companies with less than 500 employees must comply by June 2006. The food traceability regulations, modified in December 2004, apply to companies that manufacture, process, pack, transport, distribute, receive, hold or import food and require them to establish and maintain records needed to identify the immediately previous sources and immediate subsequent recipients of food, including all raw materials and the processes applied.

The Bioterrorism Compliance Seminar keynote speakers will address specifics about the legislation and what business owners can do to turn this regulation into a business growth opportunity. As part of the agenda there will be a panel of major retailers, leading grocers and restaurant chains, which include Vice Presidents of Quality Control and Quality Assurance from Wal-Mart, H.E.B. and Brinker International.

One of the many influential speakers will be Doug Renfro, President of Renfro Foods, a long-time Tamlin Software customer. By integrating the AccountMate Business Financial system with Tamlin's Manufacturing Conductor shop floor control software, Renfro Foods is now set to meet (and often times exceed) recent stringent compliance standards requiring food manufacturers to provide complete cradle-to-grave tracking information and absolute traceability of people who worked on specific orders. Doug Renfro will tell how his 65-year-old company moved from a manual paper system to a computerized real-time system and the other benefits they experienced by doing so.
