Birim Goldfields Inc.: Drilling to Continue at the Chert Ridge Prospect 2,600 Meters of Reverse Circulation Drilling Planned

MONTREAL, CANADA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 14, 2006) - Birim Goldfields Inc. (TSX:BGI)("Birim" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the next phase of drilling is due to commence on its nine kilometer-long Chert Ridge prospect which lies within its Cluster Property in the Bui area of Ghana. A reverse circulation (RC) drill rig has been secured from Minerex Drilling Contractors Limited to undertake the program that will comprise 35 holes totalling approximately 2,600 meters (see map).

A total of 13 holes (1,100 meters) have been allocated for in-fill drilling to follow up on the successful identification of two zones of mineralization in the central portion of the Chert Ridge prospect area (see November 6, 2006 news release). Significant intersections included 10 meters @ 4.79 g/t, 10 meters @ 2.23 g/t, 12 meters @ 3.09 g/t and 11 meters @ 1.42 g/t of gold. The aim of the planned drilling in this area will be to better define the geometry, orientation and continuity of the mineralization and test extensions down dip and between the zones.

Birim has recently also completed a comprehensive Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical survey along the full nine kilometer extent of the Chert Ridge prospect. This geochemically anomalous shear zone associated with extensive alteration can be shown to correspond with a continuous geophysical corridor. Furthermore, certain intersecting chargeability and resistivity trends can be correlated with the mineralized zones identified to date. Therefore, 22 scout RC drill holes (approximately 1,500 meters) have been assigned to investigate additional targets exhibiting these relationships along the Chert Ridge prospect.

Mr. Beau Nicholls of RSG Global Consulting Pty Ltd., a Qualified Person under NI 43-101 standards, independently verified the drilling, sampling and assay data reported in this release.

Birim Goldfields Inc. is a royalty-based exploration company focused on gold exploration in Ghana and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BGI.
