Birst Names Ryan Ried Vice President of Sales

Former SAP Business Objects Executive Joins SaaS Business Intelligence Leader

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 1, 2011) - Birst, Inc., the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud business intelligence (BI) and analytics, today announced the appointment of Ryan Ried as the company's vice president of worldwide sales. Ried brings 15 years of enterprise software sales experience, including six years at SAP Business Objects where he served as vice president of Healthcare Sales and vice president of Global Strategic Business Users.

An industry veteran, Ried has proven himself to be a strong leader and a top performer in high growth sales organizations. Ried joins Birst from Adobe Systems where he was area sales director for major accounts. Previously he held executive roles at SAP Business Objects. Prior to the acquisition by SAP, Ried led the sales teams in the northeast region for Business Objects. During his tenure, Ried was instrumental in building a team that helped make the firm among the fastest growing enterprise software companies of the past decade. Prior to Business Objects, Ryan held sales and leadership positions at Oracle, Akamai and Siebel Systems.
