Bison Gold Resources Inc. Central Manitoba Property Update: High Grade Gold Mineralization Identified From Additional Surface Mapping; Receives Approval for Fall 2010 Drilling Program.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 18, 2010) - Bison Gold Resources Inc. ("Bison Gold" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BGE) is pleased to announce additional results from their summer exploration program on the Central Manitoba Property. Detailed field mapping and sampling on the Ogama, Growler, Kitchener and Rex/Walton zones have uncovered in-situ visible gold and sulphide mineralization associated with quartz veining in strongly altered and sheared host rocks. Grab samples collected at these sites returned assay values up to 1350 g/t Au. Highlights from this batch of results are tabulated below.

"The results from grab samples do not represent the overall grade to be expected to be returned from these zones," stated David Benson P.Geo, V.P. Exploration for Bison Gold. "These results do indicate the high grade character of the gold mineralization on the Central Manitoba Property." The summer 2010 surface field program was designed to re-evaluate and characterize past-producing gold-bearing structures and identify possible new gold-bearing structures through a variety of exploration techniques and methodology. The results presented here represent additional results from the re-evaluation and characterization of the Ogama-Rockland zone; the western portion of the past-producing Central Manitoba Mine (Growler and Kitchener zones); eastern extension of the Central Manitoba Mine (Hope zone) and the Rex-Walton zone.

Phase 2 Exploration

The Company has received approval from Manitoba Conservation for a work permit to conduct a diamond drilling program on the Central Manitoba Property for the fall/winter 2010-2011. An initial 5,000 metres of diamond drilling will test the depth and strike extensions to the high grade discoveries made from the 2009 drill program on the Ogama-Rockland zone (see July 7, 2010 and August 17, 2010 press releases). In particular, step-out drilling below and along strike from drill hole OG-09-07, which intersected 34.99 g/t Au over a drill core width of 4.73 metres; OG-09-01 which intersected 36.54 g/t Au over a drill core width of 1.92 metres and OG-09-02 which intersected two gold-mineralized structures of 26.48- and 25.17 g/t Au over drill core widths of 1.25- and 0.99 metres, respectively.

The Company anticipates additional drill targets for this and future drill programs upon receipt of all results, compilation and interpretation of the summer surface program and the recently completed LiDAR survey of the Property.

"We are entering an exciting period for the shareholders of the Company. There is strong geological evidence that suggests the mineralized structures of the past-producing Ogama-Rockland Mine continue at depth and along strike. Positive results from this phase of drilling at Ogama-Rockland will lay the framework for an initial resource estimate," stated Lucas Ewart, President and CEO for Bison Gold.

The drill program is anticipated to commence immediately after freeze-up this fall or as ground conditions permit.

Rock samples are placed, marked for identification and sealed in plastic bags at the sample location in the field. They are then organized at the company's facility in Bissett, MB and shipped to TSL Labs in Saskatoon, SK. Gold analyses are done using a 50g fire assay with AA finish. A gravimetric finish is employed where assay values are in excess of 3000 ppb Au. Screen metallics techniques were used on samples with visible gold. TSL maintains a strict quality control program with standards, blanks and duplicates included with every sample series. As well, standards and blanks are inserted regularly by Bison Gold personnel in to the sample series.

All exploration activities for Bison Gold are under the supervision and guidance of David C. Benson, P.Geo, and a Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Mr. Benson has reviewed the technical portions of this news release.
