Bivio Networks Taps Kevin Curran to Head Federal Sales

IT Industry Executive to Drive Federal Sales Growth, Expand Company's Footprint Across Key Government Agencies

PLEASANTON, CA--(Marketwire - October 14, 2008) - Bivio Networks, a leader in networking systems for deep packet inspection (DPI)-enabled applications and services essential for network security, visibility, control and monetization, today announced the appointment of Kevin Curran to the position of Vice President of Federal sales. In this role, Curran will spearhead Bivio Networks' overall sales, strategy and business development efforts for Federal Civilian, Defense and Intelligence agencies.

An IT industry veteran, Curran brings over 20 years of Federal sales and business development experience to Bivio Networks. Curran joins Bivio from Fortress Technologies, where as executive vice president of worldwide sales and business development, he led Fortress to significant revenue increases and its largest Federal win.

Before joining Fortress Technologies, Curran headed federal sales at 3Com Corporation, selling a broad range of IT networking and security products and leading its Federal program to unprecedented growth.

Prior to 3Com Corporation, Curran held senior sales positions at a variety of technology companies, including Riverstone Networks, Network Access Solutions and Paradyne Corporation. Through his efforts at these companies, Curran developed a strong track record of building and managing results-oriented government sales teams that won multi-million dollar federal accounts across Defense, Civilian and Intelligence Agencies.

Curran earned an undergraduate degree in business administration and finance at Virginia Tech. Additionally, he is an active member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council (ACT/IAC).
