The Black Book of Outsourcing, compiled by Brown-Wilson Group, surveyed 2,529 individuals who had used management consultants, law firms, and offshoring advisors in the past twenty-four months. The respondents were asked to rate advisory firms in twenty different key areas such as level of advisor experience, client outcomes and improvements, domain expertise, sourcing lifecycle experience, return on investment and vendor agnostic, integrity and objectivity.

"Given the slowing global economy, our clients are looking for creative and out-of-the-box solutions to maintain their businesses," states Kevin S. Parikh, CEO and Senior Partner for Avasant. "The Black Book study is unique because it relies on actual client references; it validates Avasant's focus on delivering excellence to our clients," Parikh added.

The Black Book's co-author, Doug Brown, shares in Parikh's praises of Avasant: "As Avasant continues to grow, it has consistently maintained a high level of customer satisfaction and a true end-to-end capability in its outsourcing offerings. Their second consecutive year of being the top ranked BPO and KPO advisory firm, as well as its top ten overall ranking in all areas of Sourcing, really bears this out."

The Study also demonstrates how the current global recession has played a significant part in driving the use of sourcing advisors. "Where the past trend in outsourcing advice was often to ask too late and in a reactionary mode, a steep majority of executives polled report a keen reliance on external experts to drive corporate recovery through the global recession," says Scott Wilson, co-author of The Black Book of Outsourcing.

"Now more than ever, C-level officers and their Boards are trying to manage costs and the stakes couldn't be higher given the global economic climate," states Avasant's Parikh.

The global economic turndown has also created new opportunities with service providers. "Now is actually a very good time to be in the market for these outsourced services," says PK Mukherji, President of Avasant's Asia operations. "The sourcing service providers are not immune to this recession and as a result they have become quite aggressive in both their pricing and flexibility in an effort to keep business profits up. The key is to have a sound sourcing strategy in place and to choose the right provider(s) to deliver the services; that's where Avasant provides value to its clients," said Mukherji.

"As the corporate world undergoes a turbulent phase, we remain focused and committed to provide deep insights, impactful assessment, superior advice with strong governance support to help our clients navigate through these tough times and emerge stronger," Parikh added.
