VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 18, 2012) - Black Smoker Ventures Inc. (CNSX:BSM) ("Black Smoker" or the "Company") announces that it has entered into a purchase agreement (the "Purchase Agreement") with Jevin Werbes (the "Vendor") pursuant to which the Company has acquired five contiguous mineral tenures (the "Claims") covering approximately 2,464 hectares located in the Omineca Mining Division in the Province of British Columbia (the "Acquisition").

Location map can be viewed on the corporate website:

Black Smoker's easterly claim boundary lays only 3km west of the Black Crystal graphite quarry operated by private corporation Eagle Graphite Corp.; one of only a few producing Graphite Mines in North America. The claims are accessible by forestry roads and a high-tension power line passes, approximately five kilometers southwest of the property.

  • Black Smoker now has claims nearby the producing Black Crystal Mine and is currently one of two public companies adjacent to the only natural flake Graphite Mine in British Columbia
  • Black Smoker is planning a summer mapping and sampling followed by a drill target selection program for this field season; to commence immediately after property snow melts.

Carson Seabolt, President and CEO, states: "We are extremely excited to be an early mover in an emerging graphite camp with current production in close proximity to our project area. We are fortunate to add this asset to our property portfolio and will initiate exploration as soon as possible."

Pursuant to the Purchase Agreement, the Company has agreed to acquire the Claims in consideration for the payment of $10,000 to the Vendor upon the execution the Purchase Agreement (which has been paid) and the issuance of 500,000 common shares of the Company to the Vendor.
