Black Tie and Burgers Fundraiser Will Support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pasadena

1st Annual Black Tie and Burgers Dinner and Auction Saturday, October 10, 2009

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2009) - Combining elegance, ease and pizzazz, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pasadena announces its 2009 annual fundraising event, a Black Tie and Burger affair. It promises to be a beautiful night under the stars with cocktails, dinner, a live auction and live music.

The Black Tie and Burger event will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the beautiful Wallace Neff home of Georgina and Peter Whitford in Pasadena, Ca. Pie and Burger Restaurant of Pasadena will provide the main course, while other well-known and favorite local eateries open the evening with their specialty hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.

The highlight of the evening will be the live auction that features extravagant packages and events. Some of the most anticipated items will include a pair of tickets to a "Dancing With The Stars" "Results Show," a package of ten dance workouts with professional dance instructor and sensation Louis Van Amstel, a family vacation for four which includes one night in the Mickey Mouse Penthouse -- designed specifically as the grand prize for Disneyland's Year of a Million Dreams promotion in 2008, and a black and white Portuguese Water Dog that will be 2 months old and resembles the Obamas' 1st Puppy Bo!

Music for the evening will be provided by two live bands. The Skip Heller Trio will entertain guests as they arrive and mingle. Combining "chitlin circuit" rhythm and blues, classic jazz, and world music, Skip Heller has developed a truly exciting ensemble, whose music has been featured everywhere from Disney cartoons to "The Bernie Mac Show." The second band, Celebration, is a five-member ensemble led by lead singer and bassist Ron Suffredini (known for his playing appearances with jazz greats like Kenny G, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Bobby Caldwell, and the late Gary Crosby). They've come together to play favorite dance and rock/pop classics of the past six decades in popular music while guests dine and bid on the fundraising experiences.

"The Pasadena Boys & Girls Clubs continue to provide encouragement and support to the local kids in the community," said John C. Matthiessen, Chairman of the Board. "Money raised from each individual ticket sold includes sponsorship for one child's annual club membership. We're proud that this newly themed fundraiser will support the education, sports, technology, and teen programs which help our kids continue to grow into responsible, caring, successful adults. So please, come out and support the kids."

Individual tickets are $125 for the event. Sponsorship packages are available ranging from $5,000 to $1,000 and each includes two tickets to the fundraiser. Visit the website to make a donation, or for more information about the event.
