Blackboard Selects Fleishman Hillard as Public Relations Agency of Record

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 3, 2006 -- Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB), a leading provider of e-software and services to the education industry, has named Fleishman Hillard, a leading global communications consultancy as its public relations agency of record. The agency will act as an extension of Blackboard's marketing team to highlight how Blackboard's technology is used by millions of students and teachers at thousands of institutions around the globe, to enhance education.

Fleishman Hillard is being retained at a critical juncture for Blackboard, as it combines forces with WebCT following the recently completed merger. With the broadened community of practice, Blackboard will now focus its efforts to move the education industry forward through advanced product innovations, and leveraging the vast network of clients and users worldwide. Fleishman Hillard will help Blackboard tap into various communication channels to reach these users and foster collaboration and innovation among them.
