Blackdog Announces Casing of High Impact Harmattan Gas/Oil Well

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 5, 2006) -


Blackdog Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:DOG) is pleased to announce that its farm-in high impact development gas/oil well in the Harmattan area 80 km northwest of Calgary, Alberta has been successfully drilled to its Total Depth in excess of 2400 metres and after a review of the logs the well was cased.

The Operator is expected to complete the well within 21 days and if that process is successful the well will be tied into nearby pipelines and put onto production.

Under the terms of the farm-in agreement, Blackdog is paying 25% of all costs to completion to earn a 15% working interest in the half section of land the farm-in agreement covers. A successful well may lead to an additional well on the initial half section of land and Blackdog also has the option to participate in a similar farm-in agreement, with the same operating partner, on the adjoining half section of land.

Including this Harmattan well, Blackdog has participated in the drilling and casing of 2.0 gross (0.3 net) exploration gas wells and 1.0 gross (.015 net) development gas/oil well in the past seven weeks. All three wells are undergoing potential completion. Blackdog completed its first profitable quarter as a public company on September 30, 2006.
