Blackstone Appoints Former Falconbridge Country Manager as Special Advisor for Nickel

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 16, 2005) - Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., B.Sc. Hons. as a special advisor to the company for all matters concerning its nickel projects. Most recently Mr. MacEachern was regional manager for Falconbridge's Southeastern Africa nickel and pgm exploration programs. He was appointed to this position following a 15 year career with Falconbridge during which time he coordinated numerous major nickel exploration programs in several of the worlds major operating nickel PGM mining camps such as the Sudbury, Thompson and Abitibi. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Geology from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

Blackstone is a mineral exploration and development company focused on nickel. It currently has a 60% interest in the Espedalen Project and an option to earn a 60% interest in the Vakkerlein Project in Norway, both of which are in partnership with Falconbridge Limited. Blackstone also holds a 97% interest in Kenbridge Nickel Mines and owns approximately 7.5% of Monster Copper Corporation. Wolfden Resources Inc. also holds an option to earn a 70% interest in the James River Project.
