Blackstone and Falconbridge Begin Airborne Geophysical Survey at South Norway Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 3, 2005) - Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV)

An airborne geophysical crew has been mobilized to the South Norway Projects in order to complete a 3300 line kilometre airborne EM and Magnetic survey. The primary objective of this phase of exploration is to identify anomalies with high potential to host new nickel sulphide deposits for follow up ground geophysical surveying and diamond drilling commencing in early 2006.

As outlined in a press release dated September 7, 2005, Blackstone and Sulfidmalm A/S, a wholly owned subsidiary of Falconbridge Limited, entered into an option and joint venture agreement on the South Norway projects which cover 5 separate, large, district scale, nickel-copper-cobalt project areas in Norway. Over the last two years Falconbridge and Blackstone have successfully used modern exploration methods at the Espedalen Project for the first time including airborne geophysics followed by ground based UTEM surveying to identify drill targets. As at Espedalen, no modern, deep-penetrating geophysics has ever been carried out in the areas covered by the South Norway Projects.

The proposed exploration program is being carried out under the direction of Falconbridge Limited Norway Exploration Manager Peter Manojlovic, P. Geo., a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., Special Advisor to Blackstone a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Blackstone is a mineral exploration and development company focused on nickel. In additional to its South Norway option joint venture agreement with Falconbridge, it also currently has a 60% interest in the Espedalen Project and an option to earn a 60% interest in the Vakkerlien Project in Norway, both of which are in partnership with Falconbridge Limited. Wolfden Resources Inc. also holds an option to earn a 70% interest in Blackstone's James River Project. Blackstone also owns approximately 7.5% of Monster Copper Corporation.

For further information on each project area visit the Blackstone website at where a series of maps, photographs and images have been posted under South Norway Projects.
