Blackstone and Falconbridge Begin Ground Geophysical Survey at Vakkerlien Project, Norway

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 8, 2005) - Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) has mobilized a ground geophysical crew to the Vakkerlien project area in southern Norway to complete detailed ground geophysical surveys over two large magnetic features immediately along strike of the Vakkerlien deposit identified from a recent airborne EM and Magnetic survey flown over the project area. The primary objective of this phase of exploration is to identify target areas with high potential to host new nickel sulphide deposits for follow up diamond drilling set to commence early in 2006.

The Vakkerlien project area was previously explored by Sulfidmalm A/S (a wholly owned subsidiary of Falconbridge Limited) during the 1970's and covers a favourable geological setting for hosting nickel sulphide mineralization. Past drilling on the project area was shallow (less than 100m) and was largely confined to the Vakkerlien deposit (approximately 400,000 tonnes grading 1% Ni and 0.4% Cu (i)), although other showings, with nickel grades of up to 1.5%, are known on the property. As at Blackstones' Espedalen Project, no modern, deep-penetrating geophysics has been carried out in the area. Although the existence of the Vakkerlien deposit confirms that a significant mineralizing process was active in this area the goal of this exploration is for larger and higher grade massive sulphide deposits.

The exploration program is being carried out under the direction of Falconbridge Limited exploration manager Peter Manojlovic P. Geo., a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., Special Advisor to Blackstone and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
