Blake Shelton Receives His First CMA Nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year

Shelton's No. 1 Single, "Hillbilly Bone," Garners Three Nominations for Single of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - September 1, 2010) -  Blake Shelton, one of the "most versatile of contemporary country singers" (The New York Times), was honored this morning with FOUR CMA nominations in the categories of Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year ("Hillbilly Bone"), Musical Event of the Year ("Hillbilly Bone" featuring Trace Adkins) and Music Video of the Year ("Hillbilly Bone" featuring Trace Adkins).

"After 10 years of being in this business I finally began to tell myself that nominations don't matter anyway... turns out that's bull crap... Daddy likey!!!! Thanks to all!" says Shelton.

Shelton's single, "All About Tonight," is currently reigning in its third week at No. 1 on the Billboard and Country Aircheck (Mediabase) charts. "All About Tonight," produced by Scott Hendricks, is the title track off his latest SIX PAK which debuted at No. 1 on the SoundScan Top Country Albums chart and No. 6 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Shelton is the only solo male country artist -- one of three artists overall -- to log more than one chart-topper so far this year on Billboard's Hot Country Songs with his singles "Hillbilly Bone" and "All About Tonight." The country star has not had a single peak outside the Top Ten since 2007.

Shelton's first SIX PAK album, "Hillbilly Bone," was released earlier this year and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and No. 2 on the Top Country Albums Chart. The album includes the CMA nominated single and No. 1 title track that features longtime friend Trace Adkins. Shelton's hits include his back-to-back multi-week No. 1 singles, "She Wouldn't Be Gone" and "Home," his six-week No. 1 debut single, "Austin," and two additional multi-week No. 1 singles with "The Baby" and "Some Beach."

The 44th Annual CMA Awards -- "Country Music's Biggest Night" -- will broadcast live on the ABC Television Network from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 10 (8:00 PM/ET).
