Blast Radius XMetaL Reinforces Leadership Position in the XML Authoring and Collaboration Market with Record Sales

Growing Demand for Content Efficiency Solutions Leads to a 55% Increase in Revenue

Blast Radius, makers of XMetaL, the world's most user-friendly XML content creation solution, announced record sales and new customer wins for the first half of 2005. Over 80 new customers purchased Blast Radius XMetaL in the first six months of 2005, leading to a 55% growth in revenues compared to the previous two quarters. Based on these results as well as widespread demand for new products like XMetaL Reviewer, Blast Radius expects even greater growth in its market share in the coming months.

Highlights for the first half of 2005:

-- Signed on more than 80 new customers - Including large license purchases by Research in Motion, Raytheon and IBM, who chose Blast Radius XMetaL over competitor offerings.

-- Expanded engagements with existing customers - Cornerstone clients such as Cisco, HP, Bosch and Microsoft added to their existing license base, based on the positive return on investment they have achieved with Blast Radius XMetaL.

-- Increased professional services revenue - Sales from direct customer services and training grew by over 145%, quarter over quarter.

-- New products and enhancements added to flagship XMetaL suite - XMetaL Reviewer™ was launched to provide the industry's first real-time, collaborative reviewing solution for XML documents. Designed for organizations with multiple authors and subject matter experts, XMetaL Reviewer accelerates document creation by allowing multiple reviewers to exchange comments, corrections, and feedback in a lightweight, easy-to-use Web-based environment.

-- Announced support for the DITA standard - Blast Radius announced it will support DITA, which is rapidly emerging as an important new standard for authoring information in XML.
