LYNCHBURG, VA--(Marketwired - Oct 20, 2016) - Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, the nation's leading fast-casual, build your own pizza concept, opens its first location in Lynchburg today. Residents are invited to celebrate the new restaurant with free pizza tomorrow, October 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat will be eligible for a custom-built pizza on the house.
The new Blaze Pizza is conveniently located at 4026-F Wards Road, across from Liberty University and Central Virginia Community College, and not far from Lynchburg College and Randolph College. The restaurant's 2,500 square foot interior includes seating for 64, with an additional 8 seats outside. Normal hours of operation will be 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Blaze Pizza offers a modern spin on one of America's most loved meals. Each restaurant features an interactive open-kitchen format that allows guests to customize one of the menu's signature pizzas or create their own, choosing from a wide selection of carefully sourced, high-quality ingredients -- all for around $8. The 11-inch personal pizzas are then sent to a blazing hot open-flame oven -- the centerpiece of the restaurant -- where dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that your thin-crust pies are fast-fire'd and ready to eat in just 180 seconds.
Each restaurant makes its own dough from scratch, using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Bradford Kent (the "Pizza Whisperer"), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust. For pizza fans with specific dietary needs, Blaze Pizza offers gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The new restaurant will also feature a selection of wine and beer.
"The days of fighting over who wants what on their pizza are over. No matter what you're craving -- be it a classic cheese and pepperoni pie, or one loaded with toppings -- Blaze Pizza can build a meal that's tailored to your individual preferences," said Don Ash, Training Director for the Lynchburg Blaze Pizza. "Blaze offers a fast, budget-friendly, high quality dining experience that Lynchburg area college students, families and employees are sure to enjoy. We hope you'll join us for Free Pizza Day on October 21st to try one of our fast-fire'd pies for free."
The concept debuted in Virginia with the opening of its Williamsburg restaurant last November. The Lynchburg location marks the second statewide, and a third will open in Midlothian later this fall.
Blaze's culture, which focuses on the happiness and satisfaction of every individual guest and team member, has been fundamental to the concept's popularity and expansion in Virginia and beyond. Award-winning design architect Ana Henton has added several unique touches to the Lynchburg location, including an oversized wall mural custom-designed to suit the space.
Driven by its commitment to "Intelligent Choices for Our Pizzas, People & Planet," the restaurant was constructed with recycled and sustainable materials, uses eco-friendly packaging and features energy-efficient LED lighting.
Blaze Pizza looks forward to continuing to build strong roots within the community. To that end, the company has developed a turn-key in-restaurant fundraiser program that returns 20 percent of an event's proceeds back to local organizations. The new Blaze Pizza will be partnering with local schools, sports clubs and other groups to host fundraising events at the new restaurant. The new Lynchburg Blaze Pizza is operated by Blazing VA LLC, which continues to develop the concept throughout the state.
