Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza Opens in Lexington, KY Today, Offering Free Pizza Tomorrow

"Build-Your-Own" Artisanal Pizza Restaurant Celebrates Grand Opening With Free Pizza Day August 14

LEXINGTON, KY--(Marketwired - Aug 13, 2015) - University of Kentucky fans might bleed blue, but they'll be seeing orange as the new Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza celebrates its grand opening in Lexington. The Louisville-based Millennial Restaurant Group (MRG) announced the opening of their first Lexington location today at 341 S. Limestone St. across from Two Keys Tavern and next to Chipotle. To celebrate, the new restaurant is offering FREE build-your-own artisanal pizzas to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, tomorrow August 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As the nation's leading build-your-own pizza concept, Blaze Pizza offers a totally new take on one of America's favorite foods. Known for custom-built artisanal pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s'more pies, Blaze Pizza is "blazing the trail" for fast-casual pizza concepts.

Unlike traditional pizza chains, Blaze features an interactive assembly-line format that allows guests to create their own artisanal pizzas, choosing as many toppings as they like from a wide selection of house made sauces, fresh vegetables and hand-selected meats and cheeses -- all for under $8. The generously-sized 11-inch pizzas are then sent to the blazing hot oven where dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that the thin-crust pies are "fast-fire'd" and ready to eat in just 180 seconds.

"Lexington prides itself on victories in every arena and Blaze is the newest winner in town," said Rodney Poston, Operating Partner for Blaze Pizza in Kentucky. "We're taking pizza back to its roots -- making dough in-house, carefully sourcing ingredients, and cooking by fire. The authenticity of our food, plus a service culture that genuinely focuses on the happiness of our guests and crew -- have clearly been key to our popularity and expansion."

Blaze's obsessive attention to detail extends well beyond the food, with a carefully considered, modern approach to restaurant design. Driven by its commitment to "Intelligent Choices for Our Pizzas, People & Planet," the restaurant is constructed with recycled and sustainable materials, uses eco-friendly packaging, and features energy-efficient LED lighting. The new Lexington restaurant features a thoughtfully designed 2,500-square-foot interior, with seating for 60 inside and an additional 20 seats on an outdoor patio. Additionally, many of the restaurant's unconventional design elements were inspired by the company's celebration of individual expression, including an oversized wall graphic, which displays an ode to University of Kentucky fans.

Blaze Pizza makes its own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically acclaimed Executive Chef Brad Kent ("The Pizza Whisperer"), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust. The restaurant's menu also accommodates a range of dietary needs, with gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The new location will be open from 11:00 a.m. to midnight daily and they are looking at extended hours when school is in session. The new Blaze Pizza also offers a selection of wine and craft beer.

The Lexington Blaze Pizza is the eighth location for the Millennial Restaurant Group, which is developing the concept in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia. The partnership consists of James Patterson Sr., Jim Patterson II, Ulysses (Junior) Bridgeman, Wayne Albritton and Collins Cogan.
