Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza to Open Second Tallahassee Location, Sunday March 13

"Build-Your-Own" Artisanal Pizza Restaurant Celebrates Opening by Offering $3.14 Pizzas on "Pi Day" March 14

TALLAHASSEE, FL--(Marketwired - Mar 8, 2016) - Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza has announced the opening of its second Tallahassee location this Sunday, March 13 at 1670 W. Tennessee St., across from Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks. The State Capital's new Blaze Pizza will celebrate its grand opening by offering $3.14 pizzas on March 14 - "Pi Day" -- from 11:00 am to midnight. The existing location at 220 S. Magnolia Dr. will also be participating in the Pi Day event.

Blaze Pizza offers a totally new take on one of America's favorite foods. Unlike traditional pizza chains, Blaze serves up custom-built pizzas that are both fast and affordable. The restaurant features an interactive assembly-line format that allows guests to create their own pizza, choosing from a wide selection of artisanal ingredients -- all for around $8, except on Pi Day when they will be only $3.14.

Originally imagined as an unconventional "pop-up" event three years ago, Blaze's Pi Day celebration has become a fan favorite and annual tradition. Last year on March 14, Blaze's restaurants served up over 75,000 pizzas for $3.14 each; this year, they expect to serve twice that number of their celebrated pizza "pis" including at their newest location in Tallahassee.

"We could not be more excited to be growing in such a vibrant community as Tallahassee," said Dennis Sherer, Managing Partner for Blaze Pizza in North Central Florida. "And what better way to celebrate the opening of our second location by welcoming guests to create their own pizzas for just $3.14 on Pi Day. As we say at Blaze, be there or be square!"

This marks the tenth location in the Sunshine state and the second in Florida's capital city. The Millennial Restaurant Group, which is franchising the concept in three states -- Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee -- opened their first Tallahassee location just last November. The authenticity of Blaze Pizza, which focuses on the happiness of their guests and crew, has been the key to the concept's popularity and expansion. Blaze's close attention to detail extends well beyond the food, as seen by its carefully considered, modern approach to restaurant design. Award-winning design architect Ana Henton has added several unique, modern touches to the new Tallahassee location, including an oversized wall mural featuring the Unconquered Statue, with images of Chief Osceaola on horse Renegade -- an homage to nearby Florida State University.

Blaze Pizza makes its own dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Brad Kent ("The Pizza Whisperer"), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust. The restaurant's menu also features freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s'more pies, and accommodates guests with specific dietary needs by offering gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The new Blaze Pizza also offers a selection of wine and craft beer.

Driven by its commitment to "Intelligent Choices for Our Pizzas, People & Planet," the restaurant will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials, uses eco-friendly packaging and features energy-efficient LED lighting. The 2,700 square foot interior will include seating for 65 inside and an additional 50+ seats on an outdoor patio.

The company will also be officially launching its new Snapchat channel, with a "Be There or Be Square" flash promo as part of its March 14 Pi Day Snapchat story (user name: @blazepizza). Blaze's Snapchat channel will feature peeks behind the scenes at restaurant openings, pop up "pizza party" events and occasional takeovers by guest Snappers.
