Block Squad Launches a Social and Economic Strategy on Island Def Jam Digital Distribution Label

The Plan Is to Help Boost Support of the Movement and Share Financial Insight With Main Street

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - The New York Marketing rap group Block Squad is taking a social and economic approach to the music business. Block Squad and friends are developing young consumers into becoming young savvy investors via hip hop music.

The young entrepreneurs are strategically planting the seeds of Wall Street in the form of street hustle rap in hopes to set a new global trend. The plan is to help boost support of the movement and share financial insight with Main Street.

The up and coming rap stars are excited about using their debut single from their soon to be released album (Time Will Tell) as a social and economic catalyst that will help develop the X & Y generations into being more financially literate. For the task, Block Squad teamed up with Dr. Nono C. Pearson and Kolie Crutcher early in the second quarter of 2010.

Block Squad's debut single is titled We Get That Money. The single was re-released on iTunes and most download sites via Island Def Jam Digital Distribution label. Massive fans in Long Island, NY, began to hear about the group's unique rap style through an underground word of mouth buzz. Now fans are patiently waiting for their first official commercial album.

The song (We Get That Money) is a compelling street anthem and the official theme song for GET MONEY MAGAZINE. The bouncing track was delivered by Zone Beats and the lyrical content boasts of the Block Squad team following the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King by any dream necessary, while making successful big business moves with or without Corporate America.

With the help of United Vision Marketing Firm, the savvy entrepreneurs are also getting geared up to run a special promotions campaign with the release. The promotional campaign will allow legitimate purchasers of the We Get That Money song to enter a drawing to win a $10,000 (Shop until you drop) shopping spree, with Block Squad and $10,000 in cash to start or expand the winner's stock portfolio.

"Supporting this movement will be a great gift for our children and grandchildren. It will prove that we as Americans are ready to lead this economy again by getting all classes of Americans involved. As baby boomers retire and continue to invest less in the markets, it is essential to survival for us to develop our youth," says Dr. Nono C. Pearson, President and CEO of United Vision Marketing Firm.
