BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 31, 2012) - BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, announced today that the BlogHer Network's reach grew by 54 percent since June 2011, making the company a top women's Community Lifestyle network as well as the sixth largest Food network tracked by comScore (Source: comScore Media Metrix December 2011; See Figure 1).

"To be successful reaching women today, media companies have to partner with women users to deliver the quality that top marketers and brands require for ongoing partnerships," said CEO and Co-founder Lisa Stone. "Thanks to our unique publishing model, where we raise the profiles of -- and share revenue with -- the superb voices of cooks, parents, fashionistas, entrepreneurs, pop culture commentators and other great storytellers who have emerged across social media platforms, BlogHer is the #1 cross-platform publisher for engaging women."

Stone credited the company's growth to BlogHer's quality writing standards and original mission to help women in social media gain additional exposure, community and economic empowerment. "BlogHer's reach to moms with children at home has grown by more than 33 percent year-over-year, and they're talking online about everything from fashion to politics," said Stone.

Stone, who with co-founders Elisa Camahort Page (COO) and Jory Des Jardins (President, Strategic Alliances) leads a team of 65+ colleagues from offices in Silicon Valley and New York, said BlogHer is actively promoting and hiring to meet demand. Today, Debbie Wogan, former Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales at BlogHer, was promoted to Executive Vice President, Digital Sales and Services. In her new capacity, Wogan will be responsible for all digital advertising sales and services for the company, including and the company's publishing network of 3,000+ bloggers. Additionally, Wogan will oversee the concept, development, design and launch of sponsored products ranging from video to product sampling to exclusive initiatives.

"As a sales leader, Debbie has nearly quadrupled advertising sales since she joined BlogHer in 2008, and has proven to be a creative advocate for exceptional brands and talented community voices alike," said Stone. "As leader of our entire Digital Sales organization, Debbie will champion BlogHer's continuing investment in being the comprehensive source for women who want to be paid for their social media leadership and influence, and marketers who want flexible, engagement-rich programs for reaching women social media influencers across all platforms -- blogs, social sites, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and beyond."

"Through our proprietary research, we've become an industry leader when it comes to educating brands on how to partner with women in social media and market to their communities," said Wogan. "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to lead this talented team's work with marketers to leverage the trust BlogHer's quality bloggers have developed with their audiences to influence purchase decisions."

Prior to joining BlogHer in 2008, Debbie Wogan spent ten years at NBC Universal's iVillage, most recently as the National Vice President of Sales, where she led the national advertising division while working closely with iVillage's programming, marketing and other NBC Universal properties.

BlogHer also recently hired Rich Hauptner as Vice President, Event Sales, to lead sponsor development and marketing for BlogHer's conference series, including BlogHer Entrepreneurs '12 (March), BlogHer Food '12 (June) and the world's largest event for bloggers worldwide, BlogHer '12 in New York City (August).

"BlogHer's Conferences have become the standard in connecting leading brands from every consumer segment with their most influential customers," said COO and Co-founder Elisa Camahort Page. "Rich has been an innovator in breaking ground in new vertical segments and building new revenue streams around events for the past twenty years, and we look forward to his collaborative leadership in creating unique cross-platform opportunities for our customers."

"I am thrilled to join the BlogHer team that has grown their conference series from a single 300-person grassroots event in 2005, to multiple events that hosted more than 5,000 attendees in 2011," said Hauptner. "Working with our team, our customers and our community, we'll be building activations that bring BlogHer's authentic online conversations to life."
