BlogPaws Reveals 2015 Pet Blogging Award Winners

Annual Awards Recognize Pet Blogging and Social Media Stand Outs

THORNTON, CO--(Marketwired - June 30, 2015) - Every dog has his day, and for a dozen pet bloggers, the spotlight shone recently in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Top bloggers and social media rock stars were recently honored during the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards ceremony.

BlogPaws, the first and original social media network and conference designed by and for pet bloggers, awarded its finalists for the BlogPaws 2015 Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards.

Sponsored by Mars Petcare, winners were revealed in an exclusive red carpet ceremony at the seventh pet-friendly BlogPaws Annual Conference on May 30, 2015, at the Sheraton Nashville Music City. The three-day extravaganza culminated with this posh ceremony. All winners received a trophy, recognition by peers, media attention, and a $500 donation to the 501(c)3 animal shelter of their choice.

"BlogPaws is about the Bloggers. Our Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards is one way we recognize the professional work and dedication of our Community," said Chloe DiVita, Director of Events and Programs for BlogPaws. "The influence of pet bloggers is growing and the BlogPaws community is leading the way."

Designed to honor the best of the best in the pet blogging and micro-blogging world, 48 finalists in 12 categories were selected in "Oscar-award" style by a panel of industry professionals. The 12 winners were selected by judges based on creativity, expertise, and performance in their respective categories, which include Best Blog Design, Best Cause Blog, and Best Microblog, among others.

These are the only pet industry awards in which pet bloggers and micro-bloggers are judged on the expertise, performance, and creativity of the entry. Each category is judged by a distinguished panel of professionals and not by popular vote.

Hosted by Dr. Tiffany Bierer of Mars Petcare and celebrity pet expert, Harrison Forbes, the evening's foibles, follies, smiles, and accolades culminated with body armor being presented to Deputy Keith Bennett for his Belgian Malinois, Deputy Ammo. Ammo is part of the K9 unit at the Williamson County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office.

"Supporting the local community during our conferences has always been an important aspect of the BlogPaws Conference," said Tom Collins, Left Rear Paw for BlogPaws. "Ammo is the third canine we have helped protect on behalf of the Nose-to-Nose winners."
