Blue Chip Patient Recruitment Launches Digital Media Survey

Aims to Unite Patients With Clinical Research Opportunities

NORTHBROOK, IL--(Marketwire - January 18, 2011) - Blue Chip Patient Recruitment (BCPR), a division of global, full-service marketing agency Blue Chip Marketing Worldwide, announced today the launch of an online survey (http://bcpatientresearch.com) to gain patient insights into how digital and social media can be more effectively utilized in patient recruitment.

"Blue Chip Patient Recruitment has a history of creating successful patient recruitment campaigns utilizing the newest technology and media channels available," said Blue Chip Chairman and CEO Stanton Kawer. "There has been much focus in clinical trials on how to engage and how to make information relevant, but what makes this survey unique is that for the first time we're asking the patients to define the experience. We are listening, instead of telling. And we are positive this will result in a better experience for all stakeholders -- the physicians, research sites, pharmaceutical sponsors and, most importantly, the patients."

Open to all interested parties, the 20-question, multiple-choice survey -- Online Health Research Survey -- can be found online at http://bcpatientresearch.com. It seeks to better understand which social media and health-related sites users most frequently visit; which conditions they research online; reasons why users would participate in a clinical trial; and from which online portals users would feel most comfortable engaging in clinical trials-related dialogue.

Sample survey questions include:

  • If you wanted more information about clinical trials, where would you go first to find that information?
  • What would be the most important reason you would choose to participate in a clinical trial?
  • How frequently do you visit health-related online communities?
  • How do you like to participate when visiting health-related online communities?

For every person who completes the survey, BCPR will make a charitable donation to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, an organization committed to the identification, treatment and cure of rare disorders. In addition, participants may choose to enter into a drawing for a $50 Amazon.com gift card.
