Blue Earth Orders Generators Costing $6.1 Million for Two Facilities Expected to Be Operational in Third Quarter 2014

HENDERSON, NV--(Marketwired - December 18, 2013) - Blue Earth, Inc. (OTCQB: BBLU), an alternative/renewable energy and energy efficiency services company, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, BE CHP, has ordered generators, costing $6.1 million for two combined heat and power (CHP) systems. The capacity for these two power plants will be about 10.64 MW and both facilities are expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2014. The total costs for completing these two sites are expected to be approximately $17 million.

Blue Earth CHP will install, own and operate the CHP systems at two food-processing facilities, selling the thermal and electric power to the host customer and the local utility under 20 year power purchase agreements. These two power producing facilities represent about 11% of the expected 100 MW of CHP power-generating systems that Blue Earth expects to build and place in service in 2014 and the first quarter of 2015.

"The BE CHP team is pleased to place these two orders, since the lead time for generator equipment deliveries is the primary gating factor that determines completion dates for these two CHP power plants," stated Rob Potts, COO of Blue Earth, Inc. "We are moving forward on additional sites and expect seven power generating systems to be operational in the last half of 2014 and the first quarter of 2015."
