Canadian Walk of Fame country stars Blue Rodeo, six-time Juno winner Serena Ryder, acclaimed indie rockers the Arkells, the Screaming Eagle of Soul Charles Bradley and his ten-piece band the Extraordinaires, and the distinguished folk-rock storyteller of Vancouver Dan Mangan will headline the 2014 edition of Riverfest Elora, Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23, 2014. Elora's annual celebration of music, food, community and art returns to the picturesque Bissell Park and extends to two days for its sixth year. The festival gates open at 5PM on Friday and 2PM on Saturday, with music kicking off at 5:30PM and 2:30PM respectively.
Saturday's line-up features headliners Blue Rodeo, Serena Ryder, and Dan Mangan. Also performing Saturday will be alt-country trio Elliott BROOD, Montreal synth-pop band Young Galaxy, country-folk supergroup Quartette, hook-heavy indie rockers Odd Years, global fusion band Eccodek, folk singer-songwriter Jadea Kelly and local rock band Snack!.
Friday performances will include the Arkells, Charles Bradley, The Strumbellas, Australian singer-guitarist Kim Churchill, a six-piece bluegrass band, and legendary Canadian reggae band Messenjah - along with a star-studded festival jam session. As an all-ages licensed event, Riverfest Elora will have wine, beer and food available for sale, provided by local restaurants and shops. There will also be local art available for purchase from vendors in Artisans Alley. Lawn chairs and blankets are highly encouraged.
Riverfest Elora proudly supports the local community through the Centre Wellington Community Foundation. This year's festival will also support the following charitable organizations: The Military Casualty Support Foundation, Canada Company, and the Dušan Nedelko Foundation.
Weekend passes for Riverfest Elora are $75 and free for children under 14 with a paid guardian. Passes will go on sale Friday, May 16. They will be available for purchase online at riverfestelora.com and in select local shops and restaurants.
