SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 4, 2014) - Bluebox Security, a stealth mobile security company, today announced it has been named one of ten finalists for RSA® Conference's 2014 Innovation Sandbox program. On Monday, February 24 Bluebox Security will have the opportunity to demonstrate its security innovation to the Innovation Sandbox panel of judges for a chance to be named "Most Innovative Company at RSA Conference 2014."
Innovation Sandbox promotes new approaches to technology, provides advice and counsel for entrepreneurs and exposes the RSA Conference community to venture capitalists, industry experts, senior level business practitioners and thought leaders.
"Being named to the top ten is an indicator of great things to come for our Innovation Sandbox finalists," said Alex Bender, General Manager of RSA Conference. "Past winners and finalists have validated this honor through growth, acquisitions and funding. We expect similar results for the 2014 group and look forward to watching these organizations continue to succeed for years to come."
Bluebox Security was founded by two industry veterans, frustrated by the limitations of mobile security solutions on the market and passionate about transforming the way enterprises protect their mobile data. The company's team of veteran information security researchers made headlines with the discovery of the 'master key' exploit in July 2013, and since then has developed an innovative solution that has captured the attention of Fortune 500 companies. On February 19, just ahead of RSA, Bluebox will make its product generally available, re-defining the mobile security landscape in the process.
"Enterprises today are faced with a choice -- continue attempting to lock down devices and contain apps or find a new way to secure what really matters -- corporate data," said Caleb Sima, co-founder and CEO, Bluebox Security. "The last few years has proven that the more restrictions you put in place, the more employees will work around them, undermining the very security you are trying to put in place. Our solution takes a fundamentally different approach, one that allows enterprises to trust that their mobile data is secure so they can stop saying no and start enabling users."
The "Most Innovative Company at RSA Conference 2014" winner will be determined at the conclusion of Innovation Sandbox, after each finalist gives a short presentation to a panel of judges that includes Asheen Chandna, Partner at Greylock Partners; Gerhard Eschelbeck, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Sophos; Alastair Goldfisher, Editor of Venture Capital Journal; George Hoyem, Investment Partner at In-Q-Tel; Paul Kocher, President of Cryptography Research; and Katie Moussouris, Senior Security Strategist Lead at Microsoft.
