Bluebox Security to Provide Same Day Support for Android 6.0

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 5, 2015) - Bluebox Security®, the mobile app security and analytics company first to pioneer self-defending apps for consumers, BYOD employees and the extended enterprise, today announced it supports all apps running on the updated Android 6.0 operating system on the same day it is released, October 5.

"Each new OS release further fragments the Android ecosystem, creating thousands[1] of distinct versions of Android devices and making it nearly impossible to rely on OS-level protections," said Bluebox CEO Pam Kostka. "The best way for organizations to keep pace with the increasingly complex Android ecosystem is by implementing security at the application level, which is what Bluebox enables with zero-day support for Android 6.0 apps, as well as all major OS releases, from the moment they are available."

All current Bluebox customers will benefit from the automatic update. A Bluebox blog post provides additional information on new and notable features in Android 6.0 from an enterprise security standpoint.

Bluebox Security safeguards data, at rest or in transit, within mobile apps. Organizations utilize Bluebox to transform any mobile app into a self-defending app with enterprise grade security to protect app data, and to defend against and respond to emerging mobile attacks. Spanning third party, internal and consumer apps built for and by the enterprise, Bluebox works directly with vendors and developers to secure the apps critical to enabling today's mobile-centric engagements.
